*Teens On The Go - Ice Skating *(11-14)

Thursday, Dec. 12., 3 p.m. 

Cost: A $10 fee will cover transportation to and from the fun.

Vans will depart at 3 p.m. Attendees will be required to pay for the activity and food, approximately $30 to $40.

Wednesday-Friday, Dec. 18-20, train “departs” at 6 p.m. nightly.

Bring the family to be entertained on “The Polar Express,” receive a cookie, hot chocolate and a visit from a special jolly guest. The outdoor covered sport court is transformed into a train car. Ticket holders “travel” to the North Pole on The Polar Express. General admission tickets available online and at the center. Bundle up for the outdoor show!

*Winter Wonderland Pool Party*

Friday, Dec. 20, 5-7:30 p.m.

Cost: $4 per person, no passes accepted.

Pack up your swimsuit, towel and goggles, because the pool is ready for you to welcome the holidays! Bring your wish list, snap a picture with Santa down at the pool, and make some Christmas ornaments at Santa’s workshop with his elves. End your day with some warm Snowman Soup (hot chocolate)!  We will be celebrating all the holidays in one day, so come on out! Our very own Nevada Desert Mermaids synchronized swim club will have a special holiday performance at 6 p.m.!

 

 

*Mirabelli’s Merry Grinchmas* (ages 2+)

Winter Break Camps

 

Camps will be held Monday-Friday, Dec. 23-Jan. 3, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be no camp on the holiday Wednesdays, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

* Dula Community Center, 451 E. Bonanza Road, 702.229.6307. This adaptive recreation camp costs $80/four-day week for ages 5-18.

youth basketball

*Youth Recreation Basketball League*

Ages: 5-14
Fee: $85 per player
Divisions: 6u, 8u, 10u, 12u, 14u

Registration open

 

This is a recreational youth basketball league emphasizing the importance of physical health, teamwork and inclusion. This is a community-based, family-oriented program and our coaches are volunteers. All youth sports leagues are administered by a National Alliance for Youth Sports-certified administrator. 


* Individual registration only. Players will be placed on teams in their proper division based on their age.
* Season runs 7 weeks and will consist of one game per week. Practice times will be dependent on your coach’s schedule. Games may be played at various locations.
* Each player will receive a team jersey and participation award at the end of the season. Each player will need to supply their own athletic shorts (no pockets) and athletic shoes during games/practices.

Mariachi

**Tamales & Mariachi Festival**

This year’s annual Tamales & Mariachi Festival will be a celebration of family, culture and holiday traditions! The festival offers the community an abundance of "tamale" varieties from all over Latin America. Festival admission is free and open to the public. A variety of vendors will sell refreshments.

 

Festival goers will enjoy live "mariachi" music, "folklorico" dancers, Mexican "antojitos", and a host of artisan vendors. Kick off the holiday season with great authentic "tamales" by some of Las Vegas' best chefs. The SerVehZah Bottle Shop and Tap Room will offer delicious brews and beverages for sale. With arts and crafts activities available for the kids, there will be much for the whole family to enjoy.

 

Headlining the festival entertainment are three different internationally renowned mariachi bands. Acclaimed by audiences at the Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center and other major U.S. venues, three-time Grammy Award-winning "Mariachi Los ""Camperos" will perform their skillfully arranged versions of classic mariachi tunes, blended with regional styles of traditional music. Two-time Grammy Award winner "Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea "bring both traditional regional music and songs from their 25th anniversary album to the stage. Singer Sandra Guevara will sing with renowned "Mariachi Alma del Sol". Other entertainers also will perform. This event is supported by the National Endowment for the Arts. 

 

Parking will be available in the City Centre covered parking garage, accessible from Third Street/Clark Avenue. Parking also is available at the city garage at 500 S. Main St.
