UTILITY TAX SEWER REBATE PROGRAM

*Senior Rebate Program*

 

If you are a resident of the city of Las Vegas; are 60 years of age or older; have a taxable income of less than $16,500 single, $18,900 married or head of household; you may qualify for this rebate of franchise taxes on your electric, gas and home (landline) phone bills and a rebate on your sewer bill. Bring in complete copies (all pages) and all 12 months of your 2024 NV Energy, Century Link or Cox Communications telephone bills and Southwest Gas bills, with proof of payment.

 

You must provide identification and proof of income. (The bills must be in the name of the person filing for the rebate. If the spouse is deceased, please bring proof.) For the sewer rebate, please bring copies of your 2024 sewer bill(s) and proof of payment.

Free Personal Income Tax Form Preparation Assistance

 

Volunteers from AARP and the Internal Revenue Service Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program will offer residents *free assistance with personal income tax form preparation and electronic filing at three city of Las Vegas active adult centers this spring*. VITA Volunteers are trained to assist in filing tax forms and basic schedules including 1040, 1040A, and 1040EZ, for those having a taxable income up to $67,000.

 

*Advance appointments are required at all locations; appointments can be made now.* Call weekdays to schedule an appointment, or schedule online where available. Centers will be closed Feb. 17 for holiday observance.

 

*VITA* *Free Tax Form Preparation *(ages 18+)

Monday-Thursday, by appointment only. Appointments available Feb. 5-April 10, 2025, 5-7 p.m.
