*Community Invited To Celebrate At Love On Jackson Block Party*

"Free Event Scheduled For Saturday, Feb. 22"

 

    The city of Las Vegas will celebrate the spirit of Jackson Avenue with a free block party from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, on Jackson between D and F streets in the Historic Westside.

 

    The Love on Jackson Block Party will include live entertainment, bounce houses, face painting, local businesses, community service providers and refreshments, while supplies last.

 

    In November 2022, Jackson closed between H and C streets (see map [ https://files.lasvegasnevada.gov/public-works/Jackson_Avenue_Complete_Streets_Project_Map-April-2022.pdf?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ]) for roadway reconstruction. The project included installation of wider sidewalks, streetlights, trees, new water lines and removal/replacement of pavement.

 

    “Jackson Avenue is just one of the many initiatives driving our progress to revitalize and strengthen our neighborhoods through the HUNDRED Plan in Action," Councilwoman Shondra Summers-Armstrong said. "I encourage the entire community to join us at the Love on Jackson Block Party, where we’ll come together to celebrate the rich history and bright future of the Historic Westside”

 

    As part of the HUNDRED (Historic Urban Neighborhood Design Redevelopment) Plan in Action, Jackson Avenue was rebuilt to improve walkability, multi-modal mobility and enhance the neighborhood through landscaping, lighting and new urban design elements.
