This play by José Rivera is directed by Gigi Guizado. In the dusty backyard of her house in Barstow, California, Gabriela waits for her soldier husband to return from war. Grappling with loneliness and desire, her vivid imagination weaves together dreams, memories and fantasy while the Moon plays the violin and sings to the Cat and Coyote. Rivera’s iconic work of magical realism is a poetic masterpiece, inviting audiences into a world where reality and fantasy blur, challenging our perceptions of love, identity and the pursuit of happiness in an unpredictable world.

Browse a wide array of folk art, jewelry and other items in the artisan marketplace, and enjoy tasty barbecue, chicken, burgers, hot dogs, sweet treats and plenty of other festival foods, along with beer and margaritas. Set in the Greek city of Ephesus, “The Comedy of Errors” is a hilarious story of two sets of identical twins who were accidentally separated at birth. Years later, when one set of twins arrives to town and by chance encounters the community of the other set of twins, it sets into action a series of wild and ridiculous mishaps based on mistaken identities, including love at first sight, accusations of theft and demonic possession! Join the Nevada Shakespeare Festival for what promises to be a wildly fun retelling of a Shakespearean classic.

Bring the family to enjoy this free outdoor event. There will be kids' activities, community exhibitors, artisan vendors, a variety of food trucks and an alcohol vendor. Sample the traditions, music and flavors of the Caribbean. Bring blankets or low chairs to be more comfortable on the lawn while you enjoy performances of calypso, reggae and traditional Cuban music. Ice chests will be permitted for water only.

Pets will not be allowed inside the festival plaza. This event is sponsored, in part, by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
