*City Council To Recognize Animal Protection Services For Work On Illegal Dog Breeding Investigation*

"Employee Of The Month Also To Be Recognized"

 

    The Las Vegas City Council will recognize the city’s Animal Protection Services team for its work investigating illegal dog breeding at* the March 19 City Council meeting that will begin following the 8:30 a.m. Redevelopment Agency meeting in Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall, located at 495 S. Main St.*

 

    Ward 2 Councilwoman Victoria Seaman will recognize members of the city’s Animal Protection Services unit for their work on Operation Pawsitive Change. The operation occurred in October, November and December 2024 with law enforcement tracking illegal breeders online. The effort resulted in 35 citations being issued, two arrests, four firearms being seized and 16 puppies being rescued. Animal Protection Services is a division within the city’s Department of Public Safety. 

 

    Since the operation, investigators say there has been a decrease in online listings for puppies that are being illegally bred.

 

    In addition, the March 2025 Employee of the Month will also be recognized.
