*Lake Mead Boulevard Losee Road To Simmons Street
Improvement Project Begins Nov. 12*

"Joint North Las Vegas/City Of Las Vegas Project To Continue Through Fall 2026"

 

     The cities of Las Vegas and North Las Vegas are jointly improving Lake Mead Boulevard from Losee Road to Simmons Street with a complete streets project. Work is scheduled to begin Tuesday, Nov. 12, and continue through the fall of 2026.

 

     The project will focus on roadway and safety improvements including:


* Pavement replacement;
* New medians with landscaping and irrigation;
* New traffic signal/Intelligent Traffic System infrastructure;
* Replacement of water pipes;
* Sanitary sewer pipes rehabilitation;
* New signing and roadway striping, including addition of bike lanes;
* Upgrade of street lights to LED;
* Upgrades to existing pedestrian crossing as well as the creation of new pedestrian crossings at Lexington and Pink Rose streets; and
* New sidewalk ramps.

     The initial 24-hour lane restrictions will be on Lake Mead Boulevard from Losee Road to Revere Street. During construction, a minimum of one lane in each direction will be open at all times. Traffic restrictions on Lake Mead will be from Losee to Simmons as work progresses for the duration of the project. Motorists should expect delays. Suggested alternate routes include Carey and Owens/Vegas Drive.      The contractor is Holcim, Inc. The $37.7 million project budget is funded by the Regional Transportation Commission’s Fuel Revenue Index Fund and the city of Las Vegas Sanitary Sewer Enterprise Fund. For questions or concerns during construction, call 702-649-6250.
