"New Center Will Include Olympic-Sized Pool At Pavilion Center Pool Complex"

 

    City of Las Vegas Mayor Shelley Berkley and Ward 2 Councilwoman Victoria Seaman will break ground on a new Olympic-sized outdoor swimming pool at 8 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at the Pavilion Center Pool Complex, 101 S. Pavilion Center Drive.

 

    The $18.9 million project includes the new pool, a pool equipment building, restrooms and offices. The new pool will host local, regional, state, national and international swim meets and provide more opportunities for local swim teams to practice and compete. It will allow the city to add more programming, including additional learn-to-swim and lifeguarding classes. 

 

    The project is funded through a $1 million donation from the Southern Nevada Sandpipers Swimming Booster Club, a nearly $9 million grant through the Southern Nevada Public Lands Management Act and city general funds. The Korte Company is the contractor and the city of Las Vegas Public Works department will manage the project.

 

    The new pool is scheduled to be complete in the spring of 2026. The existing indoor pool at the complex will remain open during construction.
